The DPL Announces New Leadership Structure & Staff.

A New League structure in to Maximize League Potential.

 

LOS ANGELES, CA. (Sept 1, 2023).

The DPL’s mission of developing the player and empowering the person in a purposeful and memorable environment is always at the core of any decision we make. The opportunity to reflect on how to best serve our members heading into the league 8th Season led us to revise our organizational structure and enhance our leadership team.

We are thrilled to announce The DPL has chosen the team to lead us to new and exciting heights as a league.

LEAGUE MANAGER – TRICIA IZZIO Tricia Izzio returns to the DPL in a new position of League Manager.

The DPL League Manager (LM) reports directly to the Board of Directors and oversees all other League Personnel. The League Manager is the Primary Administrative Contact for Conference Representatives, Member Club Administrators and Member Club Technical Directors. The League Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the league, ensuring the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively.

Tricia brings a depth of knowledge in Club and League Administration to the table. A seasoned professional in managing the complex nature of youth soccer administration and an expert in GotSport, Club and Player registration as well as Risk Management. A task-orientated leader, Tricia will manage the day-to-day operations of the league and work in tandem with the Board of Directors to lead staff to best serve the membership.

DPL NATIONAL TECHNICAL DIRECTOR – MAREN McCRARY We are to welcome Maren McCrary to our team in our newly created role of National Technical Director.

The National Technical Director is the Primary Technical Contact for Conference Representatives, Member Club Directors and Member Club Coaches as well as the Players within the league. The Technical Director will oversee the soccer specific activities of the league, ensuring the league standards are managed and clubs are performing within the DPL Frameworks efficiently and effectively giving support and allocating resources to aid the players in maximizing their potential.

Maren is an effective and influential leader through soccer, developing players and coaches to their highest potential. She is a Former Professional Soccer Player in the WUSA, a 3-time Collegiate All-American, 2-time Conference MVP and was inducted into the Brigham Young University Hall of Fame in 2010.

Her wealth of coaching experience as a USSF A License Holder includes currently serving as a US Youth National Team Assistant Coach and Network Scout, formerly a Head College Coach at the College of Saint Mary and as an Assistant at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas and Metro State University.

Maren has been a US Soccer Coach Educator since 2015 delivering the USSF B and C courses as well as the USSF Talent ID Course. Leading and managing 10 teams as a Regional Technical Director for ODP as well as being a National ODP Head coach, she has also worked in the state associations of Colorado and Nebraska.

Maren is a US Sports Ambassador and has promoted the women’s game in both Saudi Arabia and Montenegro. A confident and competent presenter delivering at the United Soccer Coaches Convention, providing color commentary as a broadcaster for the NET NETWORK and Big 10 Soccer while serving as a panelist for Women in Sports, Maren has a depth of experience that is aligned with the Vision and Mission of the DPL.

MEMBER SERVICES ASSOCIATE – MOLLY ROMANO Welcome to the DPL Molly Romano – A College Head Coach with a background in education joining us to better serve our members with both technical and administrative assistance.

Molly is a dedicated professional with over 15 years of experience in coaching, recruiting, teaching, mentoring, curriculum design and program management and development. An experienced leader who values collaborative efforts to improve and achieve results. Molly is a strong communicator with an ability to connect on both a technical and administrative level.

Molly has been a collegiate coach since 2017, currently serving as the Head Coach of St John Fisher University in Rochester NY after a stint as Assistant at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

LEAGUE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – LEE HUDSON

Lee Hudson joins the DPL to lead Strategic Growth of the League On and Off the Field.

The League Development Manager will manage the commercial interests of the league, working with vendors and procuring sponsors to elevate the brand of the DPL and drive growth. Furthermore, the League Development Manager will research, develop and implement, in collaboration with staff, programs to increase the number of clubs, teams and players participating in the league, maximizing opportunities for players to perform in a memorable and purposeful environment.

Lee is a highly efficient, innovative and methodical Sports Executive with extensive experience of supporting departments by reviewing, developing, defining their overall strategy. Lee has an innate ability to relate well with people at all levels and has an entrepreneurial mindset that align with the league’s future goals and objectives.

Lee is a veteran of the Royal Air Force as a Regiment Gunner and served on tour in both Iraq and Afghanistan. As a Coach he has worked at Southampton Football Club in England, was the Director of Coaching at Liverpool FC IA in Ann Arbor and the Boys Academy Director at Tennessee Soccer Club.

In the business world, Lee was the Market Manager, USA for VEO Technologies and serves as Territory Sales Manager for Soccer.com. He will bring all of his experience to the DPL to overview our Strategic Growth Plan.

Furthermore, we want to place on record our sincere appreciation for the leadership and work of Mary-Frances Monroe who has served in the role of DPL Commissioner for the past 3 years. Our league growth and stability over that period is a testament to her efforts. We wish her the very best for the future and know she will continue to positively impact the game for women and young female players.
